Others on the board will probably correct me, but I don't think an S pump will work on an E. Different quantites of fuel at different timing. The throttle bodies are also slightly larger. Not sure if that means they wouldn't work, it just means they are slightly larger!
But you're on the right track. Keep the MFI and do not switch to carbs!
Where are you located? If you're near Orlando I can look at it and tell you what you need. If may not be the pump.
