Dude- you are doing GREAT with that car! Keep up the good work.
I was laid off from two airlines in the past 10 years; the first time for 6 months, and the second for 8 months! I used the time to do a lot of things I'd wanted to do for years, like travel, work on the car, and visit my family. In fact I changed out my motor mounts and steering rack during my layoffs. I was up most mornings until 3 AM posting on websites, working on my car, drinking beer, and faxing/emailing resumes. And I had a GREAT time!
For what it is worth, the two companies that laid me off were both 4th rate operations. I'm an airline pilot by trade. I wound up working at a 2nd rate operation with BIG airplanes that eventually allowed me to gain a job at what is arguably the BEST airline in the world to work for. You'll probably have a similar experience- a small amount of adversity will motivate you, and you will wind up finding a job FAR better than what your previous position could give you. Put out those resumes! And keep working on your 928!
