I found one right by my house in the local newspaper's hq bldg. They'd never heard of my bank, but when they looked it up, they said my bank was part of them and I used them for a few vehicle sales deals.

If nothing else, another bank should be able to verify the check. I've completed several sales at the buyer's bank or an affiliate.
