THIS is a Turbocharger. To remove said part, you have to take off the intake and inter cooler tubing then unbolt the flange bolts and banjo bolts that hold the coolant and oil feed lines and disconnect the drain tube
The turbo on this model is a Garret T25. This one was spitting out oil from a leaking compressor seal. upon disassembly the piston ring seal on the exhaust side was found to be crushed and encrusted with coke. The exhaust pressure pushed into the turbo body and blew oil past the intake turbine seal. Once you remove the turbo, stuff some rags or paper towels in the openings to keep junk out.
I rebuilt this turbo. It is not as easy as it sounds, but it can be done. FIRST you have to scribe the intake and exhaust housings relative to the body or core prior to taking them off. Otherwise you will have a hec of a time trying to put it back together again. In case you forgot this critical step...look at these pictures and use them to orient the parts correctly.
Clean the unit and soak it...I mean REALLY soak it with some penetrating fluid for a bit before you begin to take it apart. I used "weasel piss" AKA PB Blaster, but any good stuff will work
well, enough of the great outdoors, the turbo goes into the vice and we work the 4 bolts that hold the turbine (exhaust ) housing to the core.
