PO Rant
Why the hell is EVERY fastener torqued to 1,000 ft lbs? Is that to make up for the lack of any mechanical skill, evidenced by your fondness of RTV and electrical tape? Or Exhibit B the 15 gallons of Gulf of Mexico mix I drained because you thought refilling solved a bad head gasket?
My stunt wrench is working hard for the money. Sadly, corrosion is not a factor. Just had to use a 4 ft pipe to get the lugs off...impact wrench already failed miserably. It took so much force that I was steering the car.
So anyone got recommendations for the bolts holding the caliper on? Can't get my pipe inside the wheel well, nor maneuver the impact in there Already tried interlocking two combo wrenches, still couldn't get it. I'm thinking a 3 lb sledge sounds promising but can't think of how to implement it. I am amazed through this whole rebuild I have only ruined one fastener, which was only ruined because my allen key broke off in it.
