Need help quickly
Well, it's safe to say now that I won't be around long for an undisclosed amount of time here in the "very" short future.
I got back to work on the car today and I am in a bit of a bind. Everythying is ready to go back in tomorrow morning, but here is the dilema.
When I tore the motor apart, I labeled all wires with tags and took digital photos of everything.
Well, the disk I was using ***** the bed and I don't have any photos I took of where things went. So far I have been ok but the alternator and starter wires are giving me problems.
I labeled the three bundels of wires that lead to the alternator "bottom left", "bottom right", and "top". But I can't remember for the life of me what way I was looking at the alternator when I labeled them! I have looked in every manual I have and between the Bentley (has pic of later model SC), factory manual (wiring diagram helped but doesn't show exactly where on the alternator the wires attach) and haynes manual have not solved this problem.
Further more there is a small black wire that has a female "spade" connector that dosen't go anywhere on the alternator! I didn't label it so i don't think it was connected befroe I tore the engine apart. The only thing I can figure is that when i had the alternator replaced like 2 years ago, the new style alternator didn't require the black wire connection.
The new alternator is a "Valeo" (sp). Can anyone shed some light on this?????????
I took a stab at it and hooked the alternator up as follows:
If you were to look at the alterantor from behind (from the fron of the car) I hooked the bundle of three red wires on the bottom right. I hooked the three brown wires and large brown ground wire( to crankcase) to the bottom left. Then the single blue wire attached to the top post. The black wire MUST have been attached to the old alternator becaue there are definately NO spade connectors ANYWHERE on this new alternator.
Please help!! WARREN!! The AIRMAN NEEDS YOU!!!!!!!!
Ans I am going to run into the same situation with the starter conections as well tomorrow...especially the little yellow wires.
ANY information can literally save my ass. I HAVE to get this car finished before I deploy!
Please!
