Unfortunately I never got any blowjobs in my SEC :-(. Don't let that deter you though!

I have owned one for the last 6 years or so, and they are very solidly built and very reliable cars. Handling is pretty floaty on standard suspension, but get some sport springs from Eibach or H&R, shocks to match, and 17s (I like the old AMG style) with 235s and the handling is much better. It will never be a 911, but for its size it is reasonably fun.

Notes on lowering: The H&R kit lowers an inch more in the front than the back and gives it nice rake. Eibach lowers the same amount all round which can give clearance problems in the back for wider tyres (eg 275). Also, you'll need a rear camber adjustment kit. There is a company in Australia (Kmac) that makes them.

Check for rust around the bottom of the rear window. The rubber seal there is notorious for leaking.

Things that have gone wrong on mine are:
Seat belt presenters - expensive to fix and a bit gimicky anyway, so I lived with it and disabled the other one.
One of the seat motors - expensive to fix so I'm living with it.
ABS sensors - failed but only needed a clean
Rust in rear suspension arm - expensive, but got off cheap with a used part
Sunroof guides broke - expensive and wasn't done right the first time. I will have to get this done again.
Leakage into trunk area from rear window seal.

Note that this is over 6 years of ownership, so it is really not terrible for a now 23 year old car.

These cars are thirsty! However, the low purchase price and great reliability mean low entry and low maintenance costs. I just put up with it.

They are also definitely more of a highway cruiser than anything else. They are not quick off the line, and even in-gear acceleration doesn't seem to live up to the approx 300hp. For my daily drive, this doesn't worry me much. Plus, it makes the 911 seem more fun when I drive it on weekends!

In my opinion, the styling on these cars is great. I get plenty of people commenting on it, and also on the fact that is one of the last 'real' Mercedes.
