So apparently Ferrari was told three times by race control to cede the position back to Kubica. They didn't, and basically told Charlie Whiting that they shouldn't be punished because Kubica was out of the race after the third refusal. Whiting then referred the situation to the stewards for punishment.

Oh, and Senna was apparently told to sit out the race after he accidentally sent an e-mail critical of his boss.........to his boss.
