Porsche Crest 951 Front Bumper alternatives . . .

My front bumper is dinged and cracked in a couple of places from a minor collision I had a while back, and I am preparing to have body work done to repair the damage.

I have the other major parts, some new, some (metal) used, but replacement of a new OEM bumper is steep at $1400+ -- and I was wondering what other options might work.

Is repair of the bumper a realistic or desirable option? The cracks are for the most part behind the license plate, although there is also a problem with the passenger side being flared out a little, something someone told me might be fixed by heating and re-shaping it. Sounded a little dubious.

I also saw two places on line, one, Bumper Wholesale, advertises re-manufactured bumpers for less than $300, and the other, TRE Motorsports has replicas for about twice that.

Both are obviously a lot easier on the wallet than OEM new. Anyone have any experience with (a) repairing, (b) used, or (c) replicas?

Thanks in advance, KP
