We had a boss that was somewhat as described above. He liked me and I didn't take any crap from him, so I didn't get it, but there were other folks that got all sorts of crap from him.
He just got fired. He had already been demoted (supposed to be lateral, but wasn't really), and was working out of town. He got REALLY drunk (a calling card of his) and sucker-punched another employee for no reason (He'd been talking about wanting to get into a fight).
Yeah, that was all she wrote.
