A guy the next hill over has a Land Cruiser with a surplus V8 he got from an auction. According to him, it has a lot more power then the original engine and a lot more economical to run. Don't people put Cummins motors in our rigs? How about one of those 4 banngers from an Isuzu flat bed trucks? Physically they aren't that big.
