Helio is a very emotional guy. He followed Power almost all the race and raced past the old fashioned way. There was that bit about Power's harder compound tires and the strategy almost worked. Helio drove his ass off on the softer tires after they were past their prime keeping Power behind. Which, in itself, is a feat.
Power chose to take an outside line and that seldom works. Especially if you are on the hard tire, as he was. So, he leaves the door open for Dixon, who wisely took a wide line into the turn and had a full load of steam to come up the inside. Power is still there, digging, so Dixon moves Power over with a move to the outside. At this point, it's clear that Power maybe should have waited a lap or two to get some heat in his tires and see if Helio's tires go off a bit more.
We'll never know because INDY Car gives the race to Dixon. After a terrific drive by Castroneves, the officials decide they know who should be the winner due to the way drivers take a corner. THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS BLOCKING. Helio was devastated after working so hard. 10th place is no way to award that kind of performance.
Too bad they couldn't take it back to the previous down and yard line.
Oh ,and if rubbin' is racin' then there would have been no call whatsoever.
