930dreamer,
Dry ice blasting is an awesome way of cleaning. It has many advantages over traditional hydro/sand/soda blasting techniques. Here is the basic rundown.
Dry ice blasting is the process of shooting dry ice at a surface using high pressured air. As the dry ice hits the surface, it turns in to CO2 gas in a process called sublimation. This process blows the debris off of the surface. Here are some notes:
- dry ice blasting (generally) does not hurt the surface.
- dry ice blasting is eco-friendly
- dry ice blasting creates no hazardous byproduct to cleanup (like contaminated water or sand)
- dry ice blasting is a really cool thing to tell your friends that you did ;-)
