I know the range you were at and it sucks that someone would walk off with someone else's rifle. The pit can be a mayhem of activities sometimes. I alwas worry when I have my kids there and have to be extremely watchful of other's actions. I alas try to set up far away from the masses.
For those wondering, it is entirely possible for someone to just drive pass the office at that range and show up at the firing line without signing in, especially at the pit which is the least regulated of the four stations at that range.
