Spies is contracted with Yamaha, not Tech 3 (Colin's deal is with Tech 3), so it would make sense, especially given his performance on the satellite team. He's on track for rookie of the year, he's been on the podium and challenged for other podium positions - would better results be possible with full factory support/parts?

Stoner will be at Honda, Dovi is at Honda through '11, Hayden stays at Ducati, Rossi will be at Ducati. The only question is Pedrosa as his contract is also up, but it seems unlikely that he'd make the jump to Yamaha.

A deal not being done with Suzuki two years ago was probably the best thing for Spies - could they be any less competitive this year?
