errrr, higher octaners resist compressive detonation.... which is a good thing.
I run 104 in my car 9.8:1
I have used toluene and xylene as a stop gap measure,when I have run out of VP fuel.
toluene and xylene are cheaper than the same repackaged products. Mix them with marvel mystery oil and off you go
