I carried all my gear on a flight for a quick sailing trip last year. I was worried about my inflatable pfd so I checked the TSA regulations. Surprisingly you can carry a CO2 canistered inflatable pfd onboard a flight. I figured it's not really for sailors, but rather for people like this
