I have one. It is set at different speeds for different functions. I also have a much smaller high pressure pump that kicks on for the pool sweeper.
I run the main pump about 9 hours a day in the summer due to the chlorine generator and my 'lectricity bill has gone up about $60 a month, to $260.
In the winter it's much lower.
