I hevent spent much time in south florida....but what I have experienced, if you have money it can be pretty easy to enjoy, but if your houshold brings in less that 100k a year then you may find it challenging to enjoy the good stuff.....
We have disney passes so can escape and hit the parks, but there is lots to do no matter what you enjoy.....and yes, there are lots of racetracks around......autocrosses.....you name it.....
Beaches are abundant and within an hour for either coast......
Sports teams.....etc.....
The OP needs to see what's out there for him.....
As I said, the wife and I took a week and came down, I found a job and house and 3 weeks later I was here (she came down 1.5 months later as she had loose ends to tie up......

And having lived in the midwest for 34 years the weather down here more than makes up for all the negatives LOL
