I too had to replace the original horns. Before purchasing, I had an opportunity to hear how new stock horns sounded and was not impressed. I was impressed however with the price of the new stock horns.
I removed the old horn set. I used the existing bracket as-is (no mods whatsoever) and bolted in aftermarket horns.
Twice (or more) the sound at half (or much less) the price.
I highly recommend it.
