How do I remove the gauge bezels? I think someone added white gauge faces and the tach needle seems to be dragging on the face.

I used Mequires wax on my black (non metallic) '02 Boxster this weekend. It left some pretty nasty swirl marks. Seemed to be worse the longer I let dry. (The can said to wax the entire car before buffing.) It was in the shade, actually after the sun went down, and the car had been in the garage all day prior. I used a cotton terrycloth towel and a cotton t-shirt to buff with but there was no difference. Any recommendations for wax?
