I think a PO had put them on when the Turbo tail went on, the give it that "Turbo want to be look".

I agree, they really don't serve any useful purpose on a narrowbody car and
I think the car looks much "cleaner" without them.

I've searched a few threads which detail their removal......heat, go slow and clean up the adhesive with prepsol or similar.
