It's your money and your time, but I had a '76 project car once and over the next 4 years realized I wasn't making enough progress to warrant keeping the car, so I sold it and bought this... for under 10 grand. So far, I've only done minor cosmetic work, upgraded the front cooler and changed the wheel bearings front and one side rear. It needed new seats and rear tires as well. I still have less than 12K into it, but it runs like a jackrabbit! The PO was only the second owner (for 24 years!) and took very good care of the car and I have a book of maintenance records back to day one. I'd say keep looking.
