I realized that I haven't bought a new watch in at least 6 years. In the meanwhile, five of my watches have given up the ghost or need repairs (on two the electronics failed, integral bands broke on three more). So I'm in the market for a new watch.
Normally I'd be looking at simple mechanical models, automatic or manual-wind. But I don't want to spend the money for something really worthy. And anyway I feel in the mood for a
gadget watch.
Due to aging eyesight, the pilot's chronograph + slide-rule sort of traditional gadget watch isn't working so well for me. Kinda diminishes the "coolness" to have to fumble for reading glasses before you can read your watch.
So I am thinking:
DIGITAL and
ZILLIONS OF FUNCTIONS. Mixed analog-digital would be fine too.
Functions I want: day-date, world time, 2+ alarms (loud ones), count-down timer, chronograph, automatic daylight savings/leap year setting. Functions I'd think were cool: temperature, altitude, compass, GPS, cardiac, LED light, shark-killing laser beam.
Something like this maybe.

This is a world of watches that I know nothing about, so am looking for suggestions. A few hundred bucks or less.
