They do not force you into using PayPal. They do make it a lot easier to use PayPal.
I hate PP, but if you structure it right its liveable. Years ago they wanted me to use a bank account with PP and I did. Then there was a problem and they locked up my bank account.
Never again! I closed the bank account and left PP on my AmEx card. Never changed it even when they keep sending me crap about "you need to add a bank account to your PP account."
Remember that you are the customer. If you do not like the rules you can either try for an exception.... or leave. For now I am staying but forcing them to do things my way.
