Update regarding the original thread topic: tickets.
Went to gas up the R12S yesterday and warm it up prior to starting the 12K service, trans, FD and new tires.
RT. 523 north through my town of Delaware Township has some really nice curves.
I waited at an intersection and after no cars coming and the coast clear, headed out for a quick blast back to the house.
Winding out 3rd accelerating after one curve, who comes the other way? The local police officer. I immediately raised my left hand and pulled into a driveway.
The officer turned around and came back.
71 mph in a 45 zone.
I said, "Good morning, officer". He asked for the documents. Asked what I was doing so I told him gas up, warm up before service. He looked at my license and saw I lived 1.5 miles away.
He said, "71 in a 45 Mr. Gurak. I know some of you guys like to gas it up but you've got to slow down", shaking his head.
He handed me back my documents and said "Slow down". I said, "Yes, officer"
He let me go. Whew.
Funny thing is, same officer pulled me over either earlier this year or late last year for doing 45 in a 25 in the Rosemont section of town. Let me go then too.
That's two strikes. I've got to get through this season without strike three.
