The books were published posthumously with the current titles; apparently the author titled the first one "Men Who Hate Women" and the over-arching theme is about how cruelly Swedish women are treated, based on a few isolated examples. Mostly, the books seems to me to be possible because the culture isn't that bad - like seriously,
