Unless I'm mistaken I don't believe the kit that Pelican will eventually offer will be "better than factory". I think Wayne plans to offer the same factory bearing with the idea that if owners wish they can replace this bearing with more frequency in hopes of avoiding a failure. I apologize if this is not correct. The original type bearing has been known to fail at mileages all over the map from very few (under 20k) to very high (over 100K). The LN bearing is developed as a way to replace the original bearing with something superior. As an owner you need to decide which avenue you prefer based on your economic situation and feelings about the sturdiness of the stock bearing. Ranting and raving about the price of a product doesn't do any good. You are not simply buying the cost of manufacturing parts but are also paying for the R&D and development costs that were needed to get the product to market. That's how manufacturing works and you and I have no idea what it took monetarily for LN to develop this kit. Do you really think there are $700 worth of electronic parts in your computer? Not a chance. You are paying for more than the cost to produce the product. There just isn't a cheap and easy solution the the IMS issue.
