I had the LN Engineering ceramic IMS installed on my '99 Boxster and the upgraded OEM RMS at the same time. Given that tests show the ceramic bearings outlast the steel one's 5:1 and that I plan to drive my car for a very long time I was happy to spend $1800 for the entire upgrade, parts and labor, to keep from spending $15K for a new motor installed. Most of the process was labor to pull the Tiptronic trans which would be the same if I had gone with an OEM or Pelican IMS. If you can do your own work then you can save the labor charge but I can't. What you put on your car is a matter of personal preference and does not give one the license to run others products or choices down. That is just a matter of bad manners that seem to be more prevalent when people can hide behind the internet door.
