V8 in a 66 912

I'm nearing completion of my v8 sbc in a 66 912. Edlebrock
aluminum heads, holley street avenger, comp cam, edlebrock
intake, etc. 915 trans with centerforce dual clutch, Ron Davis
racing radiator, upgraded 75 911 suspension and 930 flares.
I also have a 76 911S. If I hadn't come along and rescued
this old 912 it would end up in the junk yard. Sure, I 'd love
to install a high performance 930 motor in a 911, but since
I don't have 20-30 grand I'll settle for this route cause
I want a very very fast Porsche to humilitate these ricers
and boy are they getting on my nerves. I don't think anyone
disputes the fact that a 911 motor is superior to a v8. It's
simply a cost alternative and nothing else.
For those interested in this kind of conversion an LT-1 will
not work in a 911, however they will install in a 944, 928. It
has to do with the water jackets in the front of the block.
Anyone with knowledge on the possibility of installing a 928
motor in a 911 please let us know. To KS911, Keith thanks
for your technical advice and all the pics you sent me. I
appreciate it. Too bad some people on this subject don't
fully appreciate your technical ability.
