I wish I was cool enough to go along with the crowd on this one but I guess I'll have to be uncool and just say it like it is.
I like some of hendrix's records, the studio stuff where he was coached into playing actual music.

But I just watched part of a biography on him. They showed him playing a few songs live, what a total hack. Maybe it was too much acid but he couldn't play crap live based on those performances. He played too fast and too loud but it was nowhere near good.
It was like he was totally deaf and couldn't hear the drummer or anyone else. I wondered a couple of times if they were all playing the same song or not. It was NOISE.

It reminded me of a kid picking up an electric guitar for the very first time and just plucking and making as much noise as possible with no meaning, no music to it at all.
