Another trip to the Porsche Dealer..uhg!!!

So, the wife is looking at new rides. She really likes the 650 BMW. She's had a couple Beemers and a Boxster S over the years, but I wanted her to check out the Panamera, so we stopped by the trusty dealer, Pioneer. I was hoping that the regular sales guy that's been there for the last 10 years might be gone, but oh no, he's still there.

We went inside to see one that was open and clean, of course it's next to his desk. He starts in on all the attributes. I mention it's for her and she's considering a 6 series. He tells me how that car isn't this or that, but the Panamera is. Ya, ya, ya. I ask about deals on financing or lease. He gives me the "yes we have deals, but it's all about the car". I say, well let's let her drive it. He says, well we close in 15 minutes and I'd rather set up an appointment for this week. What an idiot. If she liked it, we would've got it.

These guys must be selling so many cars they can pass up deals. I was pretty shocked. Personally, I think the car is a little big for her, but it sounds like it's very light @ 3800# (that's what he said). Told me a 911 weighs 3200# (sounds light to me).

Anyway, sorry about the rant, but these guys continue to amaze me. This guy in particular has done whacky things for the last 10 years everytime I've been to the dealership. Never the least interested in old Porsches or any that I've owned. Just has the speal down on the new stuff. I would drive across town to buy from the other Porsche dealer where they are a little more down to earth.

I figured with the recession and all these guys would be a little more earthly, but I was wrong. He must please most buyers since he's still around after all these years.
