I was just that way when I bought my 74 914 2.0. I knew exactly what I wanted and I knew way more than all the salesmen combined. Of course back in 1974 it was a VW dealership that sold Porsches. The sales guys did not know squat about Porsches. They tried hard to sell me a car from inventory, but I knew the options I wanted and the color I wanted. They had to order the car and it took over 6 months to get it to me. I picked it up on September 13th 1974 at 12:15 PM. It does not seem possible that was 36 years and 8 days ago.
