Conventional wisdom would be to monitor oil & filter for metal, and wait until the next clutch job to inspect/update bearing to save on labor.

However, in my '99 there was no metal in the oil and filter, and the bearing was loose, starting to fail. While it was a low mile car (which may be worse) I'm glad I inspected it when I did.
