This reminds me of a Swiss joke:

A couple in Basel is kept awake, night after night, by the dog barking in their neighbours yard.

One night the husband jumps out of bed and declares "I've had enough!" and runs downstairs.

Ten minutes later he is back, and says "there, that will teach them".

The barking is even louder now.

The husband turns to his wife with a smug grin and says "I tied him up in our yard. Now those swines will find out what it's like to be kept awake by the neighbours dog all night."
