Well i had to smile when i read this thread,because i've had similar thoughts but i'll digress 30 odd years.
Early seventies i was a kid in sweat shop,H1a/H2c/CB750/BSA Rocket 3/Trident/CB750,I had the first 3,and BMW were trotting this junk out!!!!!,as i was in my twenties as were all my friends we just laughed,sure BM tried a little harder and brought the R90s out,but the world was passing e'm by(literally) at a great rate of knots,Pridmore did his best at Daytona,but just swimming against the tide.
Fast forward 2010,i find them quite appealing now as an old man,have even seen an R90s with Lester wheels recently,and the chrome tank torpedo exhaust models fetch big bucks over here,as the interest rate is zilch and more folk are putting money in classics,assuming you've got any
