For me tight is where the seat fits like a glove. Meaning that I slide almost perfect in and out and there is just enough room for my harness to fit while still being comfortable. Once it's not comfortable then it's too tight. Also depends on the seat, I'd rather be a little too tight and a little too loose for my track/toy cars.
The real test for me is whether it'd be ok for me to drive to the track, drive the car, and then drive back. so a total of 5 hours there and back with about an hour driving the car at the track. If I'm ok when I get home then it's perfect. For me the only seats I can do this in so far are Cobra's and Bride's. I want to try a Sabelt and a nicer Recaro though.
