They are comparing the Police model to the 870 Express. The 870 Express is a substantially down-graded 870, with cheesy cast parts in the action and plastic everywhere. Compared to the old, original, un-compromised 870, it's a cheap POS. "Built to a price point" indeed. All Remington has done is to return the 870 to
close to its original quality of manufacture (but not quite all the way - the original used no cast parts in the action - everything was machined) for the police market, who apparently don't like the cheapened version foisted upon sportsmen.
