I have spent six weeks in China so far this year. My wife is over there while we wait for the immigration process to grind forward..
Anyway I make it a habit to take pictures of interesting translations, etc...
This is from a menu of a restaurant on Ghost St.
My wife says that translation it literal, i.e. go into a restaurant, and if the waiter/waitress asks you what you want, and you say something like "I'm not sure what I want" (speculating) The kitchen will make you sort of a pot luck supper..

And finally.... again my wife tells me that this is a veggie dumpling, she could not tell me what the veggie was... but the literal translation was what you see...
She and I were both LOL at the menu in this restaurant.. BTW the food was really good and very cheap..
