I have owned 2 944 NA, an 84 and an 86, and I have built 2 5.0 Mustangs
for the track for less than it would take to get enough HP in the 944 to catch
either of my 5.0 Mustangs down the straight at Second Creek or Pueblo Motor Sports
Park, and yes I did own both cars at the same time 84 944, 5.0 Mustang 1986 Coupe
retired Colorado State Patrol Car. Strut tower brace, shock tower brace, sub frame connectors
disk brake rear end from a 1988 T Bird Turbo Coupe 3.55 Locker, KYB Gas adjust Struts and
shocks, 2 1/2 non cat exhaust, chipped ECU other wise stock 5.0 motor with K&N Cold Air
setup. All cheap mods for a Fox Chassis Car. Yes a well maintained 944 NA is a good track
car in stock form but its still short on HP, and being a Porsche that is an expensive issue to
fix. Please understand Porsche VS Mustang is Apples to Oranges, imported German VS. U.S.
Muscle Car. I have owned and enjoyed both for their personality on the road and track.
Mountain View was a whole different track for these two cars, if you live in Colorado and do
track days you will know what I mean, thats about all that I miss about Colorado are the tracks, three tracks in less than 3 hrs drive from my house.
I guess you need to "understand" that there is some history here. No one is taking it seriously.
