Solomon Burke died in Amsterdam today.
Jerry Wexler of Atlantic Records famously referred to him as the "best soul singer of all time" back in the day, but his albums of the past decade or so were even better than his seminal '60's R&B work at times, IMO.
Rest in peace, King.
