This is the first time in the 5 years we had dogs that they got close to a skunk. We have had wildlife casualties ranging from raccoons to a snake. This is the first known survivor from their area. Apparently huskies love playing with small furry things.

We knew the tomato bathing trick but I also saw a lot of advise for bathing them in a mixture of 1 liter of white vinegar, 1/4 cup of baking soda and a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid. (Note to self, remind my wife of the chemical reaction next time). Since I had everything for that and no tomato juice I used this instead. It seems to have helped. Or they smell like vinegar. Needless to say, they are not coming inside for a few days, especially with the house being on the market. And you can breathe in the barn again.
