If you get a chance, try out some junkyard looking for a fridge, as well as keeping an eye on ebay, craigslist etc.
I know of a boneyard here in CO that has a few travel trailers. I actually pulled the rock guard off of the front of one of them fora friends old Red Dale.
I have a mid 70's camper, and like you, have done a lot of work too it. One of the days I might bite the bullet and get another one, but I don't want too yet.
