I bought Calphalon years ago, and have had the 4 1/2 qt sauce pan replaced twice because of "silvering" i.e. the anodizing erodes away, and raw aluminum is exposed.. Basically a cosmetic thing..
If I were to do it again I'd buy All-Clad, or some cookware that is the interior is stainless, exterior aluminum, or copper, or a tri-ply..
