Can we assume that "don't get spark" means you pulled a plug wire, stuck a spare plug in it, laid it on a grounded part of the case, cranked the engine, and there was no spark?
If it didn't, you pulled the distributor center wire and held it near a ground and it didn't spark?
If you did, and no spark, you might try your old coil? Did it work before you went to work on the engine?
