If someone was going to re-create that writing they would be better just painting over it. Given that the original paint was clearly undisturbed even with a color change, they would have to had sanded off the original number and written a new one without disturbing any of the original paint underneath...now that would be a trick for sure. And who would go through that trouble for a 1970 911T. An RS or S maybe. It's clear to me that the car was recovered and VIN plates restored. Otherwise the thieves would've repaired the patch in the trunk if they were going to do a number under a dash!
