She is 7. I thought the same so I e-mailed her teacher and her LEAP teacher. LEAP is a program at her school for gifted and talented. They both quickly responded that what she told me was very unique and not something covered in their curriculum. Neither new where she picked it up. I wonder if she may have read it somewhere.
One thing that she has started doing is we have noticed a blossoming of her creativity and work ethic as it relates to school as well as non-school scholastic projects. She has written reports and Power-Point presentations all on her own on a variety of topics ranging from pumpkins to toasters to leaves. The topics are ones shes asks me to 'assign' to her. She likes to be given a topic to explore. She uses the Internet to find out information, writes down notes and then puts them in her own words. She also creates presentations for what she has written. She will structure her presentations and add all sorts of pictures - both actual and cartoons and couple them with various facts. She is great at Google Images. Not to worry, she has from time-to-time come across nudes in her searches and dismisses them as if it was just an image that wasn't needed for her work.
The funny thing is we have tried to get her to use these for any assignments she may have in school and she says pointblank "That would be cheating! I can't re-use work I already did!!!" So she sits down on her own and plugs away on my laptop (hers just doesn't have a big enough screen to get the slides full effect!)
Well, she has more ethics than I do!
