Joe, you can't typically get rid of a salvage title, at least not legally. But if you're keeping the truck, who cares? Plus, if the truck is really worth nearly $12k, you'll always be able to get $4k out of it, salvage title or not. Personally I've owned a salvage title truck and never had insurance worries, even for full coverage. This was with Geico, so I doubt you'll have issues.
