Ok, so I re-re-trouble shot the harness and got the tach, oil pressure, oil temp, oil level gauges as well as the generator warning light working. Also found out why none of the dash illumination was working............80% of the bulbs were burnt out and another 15% were missing altogether. Tomorrow, I may take it out for a trip around the shop to check the speedo operation.
Not a bad couple days of head scratching and probing with volt meters and a self made 3volt rig to help ring out the wires.
