I will report back on this. I have about 600 miles and it may be a bit louder now but I would be fine with it getting even louder. It doesn't upset my neighbors at this point and that is just not acceptable. 
When you look inside the muffler it is hard to understand how it is so effective at sound reduction because it is a straight through design, no baffles, just a perforated pipe and packed fiberglass.
